| Basic Functions & Scope: |
| Assists the Project Manager to Plan, organize, direct, control and evaluate projects being run by Operations Managers in different ports according to the decided timeframe, contractual terms, conditions and budget |
| Educational and Experience Minimum Requirements: |
| Bachelor's Degree in Project Management, Business Administration, or any related field. MBA or PMP will be a plus. Approximately 7 to 10 years of experience in stevedoring activities & ports operations |
| Languages: |
| English & Arabic is an asset |
| Age Requirements: |
| 35+ |
| Legal Requirements: |
| Has no Criminal Record in addition to a Valid Transferable Residency & a Valid Driving License |
| Communication Skills: |
- Well Versed, diplomatic, ability to communicate with all community levels
- Communicates frequently with clients to propose, negotiate and
agree on projects
- Communicates with Port Authority for completion of certain formalities. |
| Physical Skills: |
| Does not have any physical disorders that might hinder his/her job performance |
| Functional Knowledge: |
- Requires in-depth knowledge of project management methods and techniques
- Requires an understanding of estimating and allocating required resources
including equipment, manpower and budget for stevedoring operations
- Requires general knowledge of budgets, planning, and business development.
- Requires knowledge of the laws applicable to ports in various countries
- Knowledge of the customer care standards, practices and ethics
- Requires an understanding and knowledge of sales techniques to include
presentation of services, the negotiation of contracts with favorable terms and
conditions, and closing the sales visits successfully |
